Description: Combines the properties of a Pure Actinic 03 with a Blue bulb producing a unique spectrum that encourages both bluing in SPS corals and fluorescence in capable corals. Also helps balance out a washed-out/yellow hued tank. Great as a supplement to metal halides or in combination with a 6000K Midday Sun or 11000K Aquablue Plus bulb. Features: • T-5 Diameter High Output Lamp • Blue Spectrum Peaks at 450 nm • Supplementation Lamp encourages blueing in SPS coral, minor fluorescing. Information 450nm peak is similar to Radium Blue metal halide lamps. preferred ratios include 1:1 with Sun Lamps, or 2:1:1 Sun/Blue/Actinic for best blend of bluing and fluorescence. Giesemann PowerChrome T5 High Output aquarium lamps from Germany incorporate the most advanced fluorescent technology available. T5 aquarium lighting is a relatively new light source in the United States that is quickly gaining in popularity. T5 fluorescent bulbs are 5/8inch diameter fluorescent tubes rather than the standard 1½inch diameter. This slim profile makes T5 fluorescents more efficient than standard fluorescent tubes. Other benefits include lamp life, power efficiency, output per watt and small size (which lends itself for easy redirection). Choose from Actinic Plus, Midday 6000K, Aquablue and Pure Actinic in 2ft (24W), 3ft (39W),and 4ft (54W) tubes. Notes: T5 fluorescent bulbs have a rated life of several years, however the lumens (amount of light) decrease and the color spectrum deteriorate before the eye can detect any changes. In order to maintain the health of your tank inhabitants, experts recommend changing the full-spectrum daylight bulbs (Midday Sun & GE 6500K Daylight) every 24 months and the blue and actinic bulbs (Actinic/Blue Plus, Pure Actinic 03, and Aquablue Plus) every 14-18 months. If you overdrive the bulbs (push more wattage through them than normal) with an IceCap ballast, experts recommend changing the blue and actinic bulbs every 12 months. |
